For 5 years now, our company has been successfully using the Caterpillar 950H front loader. The model is expensive, but it's worth the money. During this time, only consumables like oil and fuel filters have been changed. And surprisingly, there have been no major breakdowns at all. It works quickly and accurately because of the hydraulic system. Any employee who has worked with this machine says that the cabin is very comfortable and overall it is comfortable to work with. Overall, the company is satisfied with the work. A reliable and powerful loader!

I am the owner of a Caterpillar 950G front loader from 2012 and I want to share my impressions of this machine. This unit completely justifies its cost and handles any task on our construction site excellently. In 8 years of operation, we only needed to replace a few parts: the oil filter, air filter, and rear brake pads. All of this came at a reasonable cost, considering the high reliability and performance of the machine. What I also liked was the powerful engine. The hydraulic system with ample power reserves works flawlessly. I am very satisfied with choosing this model and I recommend it to all my colleagues.

I had the chance to work with the 966H recently. Its cooling system is designed well, allowing for easy cleaning. Tires are durable, with good traction. A couple of cosmetic issues, like the surface rust, don't impact functionality but should be addressed. Overall, the enclosed cab ensures decent comfort during long shift days.

Tried out this machine recently. It's efficient; the bucket holds up well under loads without much bouncing. Cab is spacious, and servicing from ground level is a huge convenience. However, joystick steering wasn't as intuitive initially, but it's manageable after getting the hang of it.

Short take from a field guy: the spec sheet looks solid - big breakout force and a wide bucket range. I like the Product Link idea for tracking hours and servicing the fleet, that stuff helps when you manage multiple machines. Cab feels roomy and visibility is better than older models. I haven't used the autolube option on mine so can't say how much it changes upkeep. Fuel-saving features sound good on paper, but results depend on how you run it. Transmission and traction work fine, not perfect but expected for this size. Mixed feelings but it's a capable loader.

Used the 966H on a job recently. The air conditioning worked well-a relief since it gets hot out there. The engine seemed powerful, though I did notice a faint noise from the transmission area. Could just be the usage hours. Steering was smooth but tighter turning would help in confined spaces. Tires looked good, great traction. Overall, it’s functional for various tasks.

Short take from a driver who’s used different loaders: Cat 966 moves material quick - 7 m3 bucket is no joke. If your sites are narrow you’ll feel the size, but the power and acceleration make it workable. Lights and cameras make night shifts easier. Maintenance hasn't been an issue for us so far, looks like a long lifetime machine, but expect a big initial investment. Not perfect, sometimes tight spots need extra care, still it’s a solid tool for big jobs.

From an operator's perspective, the visibility improvements on the 972M XE are impressive. The 53-degree enhanced field of view significantly helps in monitoring surrounding site activity. However, the joystick-only steering takes a bit of adjustment, especially for those used to traditional systems.

So I jumped into a 950 a couple months ago. Lot of the work is on mud and gravel, also some rock moving here and there. What I noticed right away is how the transmission and those axles help it dig in and push without losing much traction. Five-speed powershift is real smooth compared to the older ones I used. Still, not a fan of all the fancy tech. I like dials, not touchscreens ha. Never got stuck, haven’t had a breakdown yet. Fuel use is lower than what I remember with the previous models. Cab is better than before, though the climate control died once and I had to fix it myself. Nothing too major. Price is always steep with Cat, but that’s the game.

I drove the 966H for a few projects. It's a solid machine, though with the hours it has on it, some wear and tear is expected. The cab is reasonably comfortable, though I didn't like that the inside layout felt slightly cramped compared to other loaders. The controls were responsive, and the hydraulics handled tasks well. Maintenance seemed straightforward, which is a plus. It's not the fastest, but it gets the job done.
