Прибор состоит из пульта управления и механического устройства. Механическое устройство состоит из ударника, стальной квадратной пластины, на которой фиксируется форма, и деревянной подставки. Подставка изготовлена из древесины твердых пород. Установка позволяет формовать образцы диаметром 4” (101,6 мм).
На пульте управления размещены: ЖК-дисплей, шесть клавиш управления, а так же выключатель питания и кнопка аварийной остановки. На задней стенке пульта управления расположены разъемы для подключения механического устройства, сетевого кабеля с трехполюсной вилкой «Евро», а также разъем USB.
Принцип работы прибора заключается в подъеме и сбросе груза на уплотняемый материал с постоянной высоты, с автоматическим отсчетом количества ударов. Количество ударов и частота ударов задается с пульта управления. Прибор автоматически отключает механическое устройство после заданного количества ударов.
