I operated the Caterpillar 140H for a few days on-site. It’s got solid power with its 6-cylinder engine and variable horsepower setup, which I found pretty consistent when working through different tasks. The closed cab design with functional AC and heating definitely adds some workplace comfort, especially during hot or cold days. I didn’t notice any leaks or major issues; everything ran as expected. The only thing I’d note is the exterior paint, which showed wear, but that doesn’t affect functionality.

Had the opportunity to use the Cat 140G recently. It's pretty good on uneven terrains and handles gravel roads effortlessly. The cabin setup is operator-friendly. However, I found the initial adjustment period took me a while to get entirely comfortable with its settings. That said, it's a dependable choice for extended operations.

Spent some time with the Caterpillar 140. Performance is solid, especially with the main blade. Pretty reliable based on the usage so far. Just wish the operation controls had a more intuitive interface. Overall, it holds up well.

Having operated the Caterpillar 140H in various scenarios, I've found it reliable for different tasks. The engine delivers steady power, and it's efficient with fuel. On the downside, noticed a small windshield crack that might get problematic later-minor flaws but worth mentioning. Hydraulics are top-notch, enabling sharp grading adjustments anytime.

I've had the chance to operate one of these Caterpillar 140 machines during a road grading project last season. The enclosed cab makes working under hot conditions much more bearable, and the AC performs adequately. What impressed me more was the machine's hydraulic responsiveness - adjusting the blade happened smoothly without sudden jerks. I did notice, however, that the noise levels inside the cab were higher than I would have liked, mostly when pushing it to its higher horsepower settings. Overall, it’s a reliable grader for those extensive field jobs.

I've run the 140G on a couple different sites, mostly for roadwork. It slices through different terrains pretty smooth, but sometimes you can feel the bumps if you're on rougher stuff. The seat is alright, not the best for all-day comfort, but I've had worse. Dig the simple panel and it doesn't distract me, just gets the job done. Never had to do any major fixes, just normal servicing. If you keep up on your checks it's dependable. Price tag is up there, but you get what you pay for. Not flashy, just works like it should.

I had the opportunity to work with the Caterpillar 140 recently, and it’s been a solid experience overall. Its drivetrain performance stood out, making grading tasks feel more controlled and predictable. I found the accessibility to maintenance points from ground level really practical too. On the downside, the stock cab controls could use some ergonomic tweaks for extended use.

So, my experience with the CAT 140 has left me with some positives and a couple of notes. The machine feels robust and handles well on various terrains. The eight-speed transmission is nice, but shifting requires attention to retain consistent power output. Tires have great tread, which provides solid grip. I appreciate how maintenance seems straightforward, even if the older design elements occasionally require more effort. Cracked windshields might be a distraction, even though they aren’t major. It’s an effective machine that seems ready to get the job done.

Worked with this machine for a couple of projects. The engine is durable, and maintenance feels straightforward. The cabin design helps with good visibility. It’d be great if the seat had adjustable comfort settings, but not a big deal.

Used the Caterpillar 140M for a grading project last month. Its engine shows exceptional torque, supporting smooth operation even under load. Visibility from the cab is decent, though certain angles could benefit from improvement. I had no overheating issues thanks to the efficient cooling system installed.
